A Judgment Lien is filed when a Judgment Creditor (secured party) has gone to court and
has been awarded a monetary judgment against personal property of a debtor. A Notice of Judgment Lien must be
submitted on a JL-1 form and received by the Secretary of State's Office within ten days of the notice date.
This Notice of Judgment Lien (Form JL-1), must be reproduced in a format prescribed by the Secretary of
State's Office, including printing on 8 1/2" x 11," white paper.
Submittals that do not conform to the form specifications will be rejected.
